Privacy Policy
NAToolkit ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the NAToolkit Chrome Extension (the "Extension").
1. No Data Collection by NAToolkit
NAToolkit does not operate any backend servers that collect, process, or store user data. All extension data (chat folders, bookmarks, prompt library, settings) is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) and never leaves your device.
NAToolkit does not collect:
- Chat conversation content
- Personal identifiable information
- Browsing history or activity on ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude
- API keys in plain text
The only exception is the optional Prompt Enhancer feature described below, where prompt text is sent by the user's browser directly to the user's chosen AI provider.
2. Prompt Enhancer Feature — Third-Party AI API Usage
NAToolkit's "Prompt Enhancer" feature is optional and only activates when the user explicitly clicks the Enhance button and has configured their own API key in the extension settings.
What data is processed: When the Prompt Enhancer is used, the text currently typed in the chat input box ("prompt text") is temporarily transmitted to the user's selected third-party AI provider for the purpose of rewriting and improving the prompt.
Who receives the data: Depending on the provider the user selects in Settings, the prompt text is sent to one of the following third-party services:
- OpenAI (
api.openai.com) — governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy - Google Gemini (
generativelanguage.googleapis.com) — governed by Google's Privacy Policy - OpenRouter (
openrouter.ai) — governed by OpenRouter's Privacy Policy
API Keys: NAToolkit does not collect, store, or transmit your API keys to its own servers. API keys are stored locally on your device using AES-256 encryption (via the browser's native WebCrypto API) and are sent directly from your browser to the chosen AI provider's servers.
NAToolkit does not see, log, or retain any prompt text. All communication is directly between your browser and the third-party AI provider using your own API key.
If you do not use the Prompt Enhancer feature, no prompt data is ever transmitted anywhere.
3. Data Collection and Storage
Local Storage First
NAToolkit is designed with a privacy-first architecture. All of your core data—including your custom chat folders, bookmarks, prompt library, and settings—is stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage.
ChatGPT, Gemini & Claude Data
The Extension interacts with supported AI web interfaces including ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), Google Gemini (gemini.google.com), and Claude (claude.ai) to provide productivity features like folder organization, bookmarks, bulk actions, exporting, and prompt enhancement. We do not read, transmit, or store your ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude conversations on our external servers. All chat manipulation, organization, and exporting happen entirely locally within your browser.
4. Information We Collect
Licensing and Payment Data
If you upgrade to a Premium plan (Lifetime or Yearly), your payments and licensing are handled securely by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. When you enter your License Key into the Extension, we collect and send the following to Lemon Squeezy's validation servers:
- Your License Key
- A randomly generated Installation ID (to track device limits)
We do not have access to your credit card information, billing address, or other sensitive financial data. Please review Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy for more information on how they handle your payment data.
Analytics and Usage Data
We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics tools inside the extension to track your clicking behavior or feature usage.
However, on our website, we use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand website traffic, measure performance, and improve the user experience. These tools may collect aggregated information about how visitors interact with our website, but they are not used to track your activity within the extension itself.
5. How We Use Your Information
The limited information we do collect (such as the name and email you use when purchasing our premium plan) is used exclusively for:
- Validating your premium subscription status.
- Preventing software piracy and license abuse.
- Providing customer support related to your license.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. We will only disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
7. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Because your core usage data never leaves your browser, the risk of data breaches involving your prompt libraries or bookmarks is practically eliminated.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
